Meet the Founder
Hi, My name is Rachael Nelson. I am a Florida licensed and ASHA Certified speech-language pathologist living in St. Petersburg, Florida, and serving the Tampa Bay Area.
I specialize in evaluating and providing therapy to children from birth to 18 with articulation disorders, language delays/disorders, social skill disorders, and feeding difficulties. I am highly trained and have experience working with children with Development Delays, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and diagnoses resulting in non-verbal communication.
Prior to founding Find My Voice Therapy Services, I worked in a prescribed pediatric extended care (PPEC) facility, home health, and various private practices, schools, and daycares.
It is important for me to utilize a variety of evidence-based techniques and strategies to help my clients achieve their goals. I utilize a child-led and play-based approach to therapy.
I genuinely love working with children and am passionate about helping them find their voice to communicate their wants and needs.

Rachel was the answer to our prayers!
Our now 2 1/2 year old son, is super intelligent. And even though not on high alert quite yet, at 2, we knew the delay in his speech was something we were determined to get ahead of.
He wasn’t even trying (or so it seemed at the time - we later learned he was just frustrated like us).
We started to do our research and take action, but the beginning was pretty discouraging. He was not accepted to early steps and didn’t do well with zoom therapy. We bought courses, books, etc. But it all seemed to lead us right back to the same place..the beginning.
On another “late night anxiety can’t sleep session” I happened to see Rachel’s post on my Local Moms Facebook Group.
Fast forward 5 months and he is trying to verbalize everything! He says so many words and is even starting to put words together! We now know where he was deficient and have a solid game plan we all feel good about and understand.
Each week we have fun homework and exercises that even he loves which is the best part! The way Rachel teaches is FUN and the way she breaks everything down for us to understand is awesome!
If you have a child that’s speech delayed and you want to learn HOW to help your child and actually understand what’s happening + get the “tools” to help your child talk then we would highly recommend Ms. Rachel!

“I am so grateful to have found Rachael as my children's speech therapist. From the moment we met her, I could tell that she was passionate and professional about her work and dedication to helping my children reach their full potential.
The progress they have made in such a short amount of time is truly remarkable, and I attribute this largely to Rachael's expertise and commitment. Not only is Rachael highly skilled, but she also has a unique ability to connect with children, particularly those with special needs like my son, who has autism. She creates a warm and nurturing environment in which both of my children feel comfortable and motivated to learn. She has a true gift for engaging them and making therapy sessions fun and productive. But Rachael's dedication doesn't end with just my children. She goes above and beyond to provide support and guidance for me as a parent, too. She always takes the time to answer my questions and explain things in a way that I can understand. I feel confident in her ability to help my children succeed, and I trust her completely.
In short, I cannot recommend Rachael enough. She is truly a gem in the world of speech therapy and I am so grateful to have had her on our team. If you're looking for a top-notch therapist who will give your child the individualized attention and care they deserve, look no further than Rachael.”

“Rachael worked with my son for quite a while. She was amazing with him. She knew just how to push him and hold him to certain expectations and then when to give him time to collect himself. He may have had favorite toys or games for therapy, but her lessons would grow and change based on what my son’s interests and needs were. She wasn’t afraid to adjust to what my son would tolerate. She was also amazing with his AAC device. She single-handedly modified and adjusted the communication device for my son’s needs and personality. She is kind, patient, and not afraid to push the kids a little out of their comfort zone. I would highly recommend her if you have a loved one who struggles to find their voice. She’s amazing!”

Rachael is fantastic! I needed a screening completed for my 3-year-old, and Rachael did not disappoint. Scheduling was a breeze and she even did the assessment in my home (which is ideal as as a busy mom of two). She was very informative, engaging, and fun. I highly recommend Rachael and Find My Voice Therapy Services!

“Rachael was fantastic!! My kids are very shy around new people, however they were so drawn to her and were giving out hugs left and right. She was great with the screening process, my kids just thought she was playing games. She was informative with me and what my son was struggling with. I would definitely recommend her to anyone needing these services”
